Replace Conservatory Roof

Does a replacement conservatory roof require planning permission?

Recently we were contacted by a home improvement company as to whether their client would require planning permission to replace a conservatory roof.

The previous conservatory had planning permission granted some time ago for a single slopping mono pitch roof and the client wanted to remove this and install a ’livinRoof’ but with a double hipped design.

As this would be increasing the height of the original conservatory the local authority required us to submit a new planning application. This was reasonably straight forward, and the application went through with no complications and the company has now installed the roof.

You can see more of these ‘Livin Roofs’ by following the link Livinroof ultraframe

A replacement ‘warm roof’ will require building control.

When replacing a conservatory roof with a light weight tiled or livin roof you will require building control. This will need to be dealt with by an approved inspector or the local authority.

We can help set up your application with an approved inspector to make the whole process simple and hassle free.
